Since you’re here, I’ll tell you about the origin of my famous Hell Yeah! stickers.
Not so long ago, I completed design and production on a couple of stickers for clients. I thought, “Why don’t I have a sticker? I want a sticker of my own.” So I whipped out my iPad and drew a bunch of friendly cartoons in Procreate. I assembled the sticker in Adobe Illustrator. My cartoon dude needed to be saying something that represented me, which is where “Hell Yeah!” came from. It’s my common answer to questions you might ask me:
- “Hey Matt, you want to catch a weird unknown indie rock band at a tiny club on a Monday night?” “Hell Yeah!”
- “Hey Matt, you want to volunteer to lead 200 teenage Boy Scouts to National Jamboree, requiring you to take three weeks of vacation?” “Hell Yeah!”
- “Hey Matt, you want to rewrite our entire website?” “Wait, are you paying me for this?” “Yes, of course.” “Hell Yeah!”
Thus the Hell Yeah! sticker was born. It’s been popular enough with friends that I’ve reprinted it several times. The next time I see you, maybe I’ll give you one.
